Who we are
ExploreIndonesia.ai (“we”, “us”) is an independent travel-planning product. You can reach us via the contact form at the bottom of every page.
What we collect
- Account data, if you create an account to save and download itineraries: your email address, name, and — only if you choose to provide it — a mobile phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google; we never see your Google password.
- Your itineraries — the trip plans you save to your account, including the trip description you typed into the planner.
- Marketing preference — whether you ticked the optional box to receive itinerary ideas from us, and when you gave consent.
- Email address, when you sign up for early access or contact us. Stored with our email provider (Brevo).
- Analytics data — pages viewed, basic device info, anonymised IP — via Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Contentsquare. These load only after you accept cookies.
- Message content if you write to us through the contact form.
- Your trip description — the itinerary or trip details you type into the planner, recorded to help us understand what travellers want and improve the product. Like analytics, this is captured only after you accept cookies.
Your account
Accounts are optional — you can browse the site and build itineraries without one. An account is only needed to save itineraries and download them as PDF. We use passwordless sign-in: a secure link sent to your email, or Google sign-in. Account data and saved itineraries are stored with Supabase on servers in the European Union, protected so that each user can only access their own data.
You can delete your account at any time from the “My account” page. This permanently removes your account, profile, and all saved itineraries from our database.
Cookies
We default all non-essential cookies to “denied” using Google’s Consent Mode. Until you click “Accept all” in the cookie banner, no analytics or measurement cookies are set. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s storage in your browser and reloading.
How we use your data
- Provide the trip-planner service: keep your saved itineraries available in your account and generate your PDF downloads.
- Send you itinerary ideas and travel tips — only if you ticked the optional marketing box. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Send you product updates if you joined the waitlist.
- Reply to messages you send via the contact form.
- Understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.
Affiliate links
Some links on trip pages are affiliate links to partners like Booking.com, Viator, Klook, and others. If you book through one, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. These links are marked with rel=“sponsored”.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run the site: Supabase (account and itinerary storage, EU servers), Brevo (transactional and waitlist email), Google (optional sign-in, and analytics after cookie consent), and Vercel (website hosting). Each only processes the data needed for its role.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to stop processing it. The fastest way to delete everything is the “Delete my account” option on your account page — it works instantly. For anything else, email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we materially change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist subscribers.
